2021 Nissan Ariya Unveiled; Delivers Range Up to 300 Miles

2021 Nissan Ariya, the first and all-new electric coupe crossover from the Japanese carmaker, has made its world debut via a livestream event. The carmaker claims that the new Ariya “offers powerful acceleration and smooth, quiet operation”. Read – Nissan Magnite Compact SUV Coming Soon

The production version of the electric coupe crossover retains most of its design bits and features from the concept that broke cover at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. It will be first launched in the Japanese market in mid 2021, followed by the US and Canada. Prices of the new Nissan electric coupe crossover are likely to start around $40,000.

2021 Nissan Ariya Launch

Based on an all-new Alliance-developed EV platform, the 2021 Nissan Ariya will be made available with a twin electric motor setup and Nissan’s most advanced all-wheel control technology – e4ORCE. The carmaker says that the e-4ORCE is the spiritual successor of the Nissan GT-R’s ATTESA E-TS torque split system and the Nissan Patrol’s intelligent 4X4 system. The new Nissan electric coupe crossover will come with two battery options – a 63kWh and a 87kWh. The battery pack is fitted under the centre of the vehicle ensuring a low centre of gravity and near-equal weight distribution front and rear. The new electric coupe crossover from Nissan is claimed to deliver a range of up to 310 miles, based on WLTP combined cycle. It offers three driving modes – Standard, Sport and Eco.

The e-4ORCE models get an additional Snow mode. Similar to the new-generation Nissan Leaf, it comes equipped with ProPILOT hands-on assistance system. On the safety front, the electric coupe crossover has 360 degree safety features including intelligent emergency braking, intelligent forward collision warning, intelligent around view monitor, rear automatic emergency braking technology. The 2021 Nissan Ariya has been packed with several advanced features including ultra-thin headlamps, two 12.3-inch instrument monitor and centre display, segment’s largest full-colour head-up displays, embedded 4G connectivity, Nissan’s intelligent personal assistance technology and many more.
