2021 MG Hector CVT Automatic Variant Launching Soon

In January, MG Motor India introduced the updated Hector and Hector Plus 7-seater SUVs with minor cosmetic and feature upgrades. The 2021 MG Hector facelift comes with the same engine setup that includes a 143hp, 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre petrol with a 48V mild hybrid tech and a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine. With the mild hybrid technology, the motor is claimed to deliver 20Nm extra torque at low speeds and 12% more fuel efficiency than the petrol motor.

A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard across the model lineup. The 1.5L petrol motor is exclusively offered with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. According to a fresh media report, the 2021 MG Hector will receive a CVT automatic gearbox with a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. The SUV’s CVT automatic variant is reported to launch next week.

2021 MG Hector facelift SUV

No other changes are likely to be made to the MG Hector CVT automatic variant. The SUV will feature the recently revised grille with new finish, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, updated front and rear scuff plates and black appliqué running between the taillamps.  The facelifted Hector gets a new Starry Blue colour scheme along with the standard shades Glaze Red, Burgundy Red, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Candy White, Candy White with Starry Black and Glaze Red with Starry Black. The updated Hector gets lighter Champagne and Black dual-tone interior instead of the all-black theme. Features such as wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and an auto dimming inside rear view mirror are new on-the-board. One of the biggest updates comes in the form of Hinglish voice assistance with 31 commands. The top-end trim continues to be equipped with a 10.4-inch portrait oriented touchscreen infotainment system, auto climate control, connected car tech, a 360 degree camera, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and more.
