2021 MG Gloster Savvy 7-Seater With ADAS & 4WD Launched In India

MG Motor India has launched the new MG Gloster Savvy trim in the Indian car market. The new Gloster Savvy is offered in 6-and 7-seat layouts, priced at Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices of the top-spec Savvy 6-seater has been increased by Rs 46,000. The Gloster line-up is available in 4 trims – Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy – priced between Rs 29.98 lakh to Rs 37.28 lakh.

The new 2021 MG Gloster Savvy 7-seater variant has all the features that are accessible in the 6-seater variant. It comes with bench-type seats for the second and third row. In terms of features, the Gloster Savvy gets level 1 autonomous features (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The ADAS offers autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, hands free parking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot assist and forward collision warning.

The new MG Gloster Savvy 7-seater variant comes equipped with high-end features such as 360 degree camera, electronic locking rear differential, a 12-speaker audio system with subwoofer and amplifier, a panoramic sunroof, 64 colour ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, electrically adjustable driver and co-driver seats with heating function, auto dimming IRVM, etc. The SUV also gets I-Smart 2.0 connected car tech with more than 70 connected features.

It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine that also powers the 6-seater Savvy. This engine is capable of producing 218bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all-4 wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The entry-level Super and Smart trims are powered by a 2.0-litre single turbocharged diesel engine with 2WD system. This engine churns out 163bhp of power and 375Nm of torque.

MG Gloster Launch Date

The Gloster is the biggest SUV in its category, measuring close to 5 meters in length. In terms of proportions, the new model is 4,985mm long, 1,867mm tall, and 1,926mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,950mm. The SUV offers a fuel tank of 75-litres capacity. It features all disc brakes, and rides on 19-inch alloy wheels.

The MG Gloster rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. The company is also readying a new mid-sized SUV for the Indian market. It is basically the petrol derivative of the ZS EV, and is rumoured to be called the MG Astor. The SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Nissan Kicks.
