2021 Mahindra ScorpioN – New Name, New Logo and Design

The new-generation Mahindra XUV500 and Scorpio SUVs are certainly two much-anticipated launches of the next year. Both models will take a big leap in terms of design, feature and engine mechanism. We have seen multiple spy pictures and videos of the new XUV500 and Scorpio revealing interesting details. Recently, the home-grown carmaker filed a trademark application for the new name of the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio SUV.

While earlier the company registered the name ‘Scorpio Sting’, this time around it’s ‘ScorpioN’. The 2021 Mahindra ScorpioN nameplate could be used for the more powerful variant of the vehicle. Reports suggest that the SUV will receive a new 2.0L turbocharged petrol motor from the mStallion engine family. It will be tuned for generating power worth 150bhp with 320Nm of torque. The diesel model will come with the more powerful 2.2L mHawk unit offering 130bhp and 320Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be taken care of by the 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes.

2020 Mahindra Scorpio Upgrade

The 2021 Mahindra ScorpioN will be designed by Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre in Detroit, USA and the Research Valley in Chennai. The recent spy pictures reveal that the SUV might get newly-designed headlamps with LED DRLs, a 5-slot grille, longer hood and slightly tweaked front bumper with wide air intakes. The new model will be bigger than current generation, and have an extended C-pillar. The higher trims might be exclusively offered with alloy wheels. It might also come with a larger tailgate and new LED taillamps. Read – 2021 Mahindra Thar To Get 2 New Colours

One of the biggest changes will come in the form of the new platform, which will be modified version of the existing ladder-on-frame chassis. Inside, the SUV will have a new touchscreen infotainment system along with a new multi-functional steering wheel and new rear AC vents. With the generation change, the Scorpio might receive the front-facing bench seat for the third row as standard.
