2021 Mahindra Scorpio Front, Side, Rear Design Rendered

A latest digital rendering of the upcoming new-generation Mahindra Scorpio, based on the several spy pictures, has been emerged on the web. The rendering shows a possible design of its front fascia, side and rear profiles. While the rendered 2021 Mahindra Scorpio retained the original tall and upright stance, it carries an entirely new front fascia featuring a twin-pod headlamp setup, wider bumpers, new air intakes and revised fog lamp assembly.

The headlamps look similar to the second-generation Mahindra XUV500, which is reported to arrive in coming months. The SUV has all-new body panels. The side body cladding, squared wheel arches with newly-designed alloy wheels and roof rails enhance its side appearance.

At the back, the new Mahindra Scorpio sport new vertically positioned LED taillamps, side-hinged doors, a roof mounted stop lamp. Compared to the current generation, the new one will be bigger and have a more spacious cabin. This time around, the SUV will underpin the ladder-frame chassis that has already been used in the new Thar.

The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will receive comprehensive changes inside the cabin as well. The SUV will have an entirely new dashboard along with a new touchscreen infotainment system. The unit is likely to support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Some of its components will be borrowed from the new Thar including instrument cluster, gear knob, steering wheel and control stalks. Material quality, fit and finish will also be classed up.

One of the major updates will be made under the hood. The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will come with a new 2.0L turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine. While the gasoline unit will deliver power close to 152bhp, the oil burner will make 158bhp. Both manual (6-speed) and automatic (6-speed torque convertor) gearboxes will also be on offer. The new Scorpio will come with AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.
