2021 Kia Carnival First Pictures Out; Design Changes Revealed

The first pictures of the 2021 Kia Carnival MPV have been revealed by the South Korean carmaker. While its global debut will happen by the end of this year or early next year, its India launch is likely to take place sometime in 2022. The new 8-seater MPV is claimed to offer “stronger, more stylish presence”.  The carmaker says that the new Carnival “has been designed to appeal to progressive young families, with a leading combination of innovation, flexibility, and style”.

The new Carnival’s design and styling is inspired by Kia’s global range of SUVs. Upfront, it carries the brand’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille with diamond patter and chrome along with the angular headlamps, LED DRLs, a faux skid plate and lower air intake with chrome finish. The rear profile has been adorned by LED taillamps connected via a large LED light bar. There is a chrome accent just above the full-width LED light car wrapping around the base of the rear window and the rear side windows.

The carmaker hasn’t yet released interior pictures and details of the new-generation Carnival. Though, it’s likely to come with a newly-designed dashboard featuring infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. The 2021 Kia Carnival is likely to be offered with a 2.5L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine making power worth 277bhp and 421Nm of torque. The model lineup might also be offered with a 1.6L, 4-cylinder engine paired to an electric motor and a 1.5kW lithium-ion battery. The electric powertrain might deliver power close to 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. In select markets, the existing 2.2L diesel engine might continue to be offered.
