2021 Kia Carnival Engine Specs, Features, Images Revealed

After revealing the exterior and interior pictures, Kia Motors has now released the engine specifications and key features of the next-gen 2021 Kia Carnival MPV. The new model will be launched in the global markets by the end of this year; however, India launch expected in late 2021 or early 2022.

2021 Kia Carnival Engine Specs

The new 2021 Kia Carnival is available with a choice of 3 new engines. The top-spec model gets a 3.5-litre GDi V6 Smartstream engine with advanced GDi and multi-point injection system. This engine is capable of producing 290bhp of power and 355Nm of torque. It also gets a 3.5-litre MPi petrol V6 engine that offers 268bhp of power and 332Nm of torque.

The diesel version gets the new 2.2-litre ‘Smartstream’ engine producing 199bhp of power and 440Nm of torque. The new engine features aluminium block, which makes it 20 kg lighter than the previous engine’s cast iron block. Also See – Upcoming Kia Cars

The 2021 Kia Carnival features new 12.3-inch instrument console and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with voice recognition. The Carnival also offers live telematics information via the in-car touchscreen and on their smartphone. The infotainment system also enables users to connect two smartphones via Bluetooth at the same time, enabling separate phones to be used for phone calls or media.

The new Carnival also has a new ‘Rear Passenger View & Talk’ feature. Front passengers can use this feature to check on rear-seat passengers with a small camera linked to the infotainment system – instead of turning around in their seat. The MPV also gets one-button smart open-and-close for the rear power-sliding doors and tailgate.

The new Kia Carnival has 30mm longer wheelbase at 3,090mm and 10mm wider body at 1,995mm. The overall length has been increased by 40mm to 5,155mm, which should help the brand to create more space inside the cabin. With all seats in position, the 7-seater Carnival will offer a boot space of 627-litres. The luggage space can be further increased to 2,905-litres by folding the rear seats.
