2021 Force Gurkha (Thar Rival) Launch By May – 10 Key Facts

The new 2021 Force Gurkha, which was previewed at the last year’s Auto Expo, is now reported to hit roads by May. The information has been revealed by a Coimbatore based authorized Force dealer. Featuring plenty of cosmetic updates, the new model looks more robust than the existing one. Though, it retained the upright retro stance.

The off-road SUV has also received a new chassis and bodyshell to comply with existing crash test standards and the upcoming pedestrian safety standards.  

New Force Gurkha BS6

The front fascia of the updated model has witnessed significant changes including a newly-designed grille, rounded headlamps with LED DRLs, revised bumpers and fog lamps. Read – New Mahindra Thar Vs New Force Gurkha

The off-road SUV comes fitted with a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels and 245/70 tyres. The bulged wheel arches and cladding further enhance its new look.

The carmaker will also offer an accessory kit with the new Gurkha that will include a roof carrier, snorkel and tailgate mounted spare wheel.

BS6 Force Gurkha Price

Inside the cabin, the 2021 Force Gurkha has four forward facing seats – two individual seats in the middle row and two jump seats in the boot area.

The SUV gets a newly-designed dashboard and centre console along with a touchscreen infotainment system.

The digital MID is now placed between the tacho and speedometer. The instrument cluster and control surfaces for the air-con system are also new add-ons.   

Under the hood, the new Force Gurkha 2021 employs the same 2.6L diesel engine that does duty in the old model. Though, the motor has been upgraded to meet the BS6 emission standards.

BS6 Force Gurkha Details

Compared to its BS4 version, the updated one is slightly more powerful. It pushes out a peak power of 90bhp. For performing transmission duties, the off-road SUV has a 5-speed manual gearbox.

It comes with 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system with manual locking differentials controlled through levers on the floor console situated between the driver and co-driver. It can also be had with 2WD (two-wheel-drive) system.
