The front fascia appears more aggressive than before, thanks to its wider and slightly lower positioned grille, newly-designed LED headlamps with BMW’s Laserlight technology (higher M Sport trim only), L-shaped DRLs and indicators and updated bumper. The 18-inch alloy wheels are standard across the model lineup, while the larger size wheels are optional. The taillamps are heavily updated with design similar to the new 3 Series. The luxury sedan also gets revised rear bumper and trapezoidal tailpipes. The 2021 BMW 5 Series is available in two new colour schemes – Bernina Grey Amber and Phytonic Blue. Compared to the previous model, the updated one is 27mmm longer.

One of major attractions of its interior is the latest generation BMW iDrive infotainment system with larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. The sedan has also been equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The newly-designed dashboard with a new lower climate display, gloss black centre console and new materials further enhance its feel and appeal. While the petrol variant gets synthetic leather upholstery, the diesel models come with premium ‘Dakota’ leather and ‘Nappa’ leather options.
