The long-awaited 2021 Audi A4 facelift will soon go on sale in India as official bookings for the sedan have been commenced. Interested buyers can pre-book the new A4 on the Audi India website and at authorised dealerships across the country by paying a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. Production of the car has already been commenced at VW Group’s Aurangabad facility.
Audi India had introduced the updated A4 in 2019, which was discontinued due to the new emission norms in April 2020. This will be the second update to Audi’s highly successful sedan in India. The 2021 Audi A4 facelift comes with cosmetic design changes. The sedan has wider single-frame grille, newly-styled LED headlamps with DRLs, new bumpers and re-styled tail-lights.
Inside the cabin, the 2021 Audi A4 facelift looks identical to the previous model. However, it comes with a bigger floating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options. It continuous to offer physical buttons for features like climate control. It is likely to be offered in two variants – Premium Plus and Technology. The sedan will offer Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument console, LED lighting system, multi-zone climate control and others.
The 2021 Audi A4 facelift will be powered by a more powerful 190bhp, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The previous model was equipped with a 150bhp, 1.4L turbo-charged petrol. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 7.3 seconds.
The new model will rival the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3-Series and the Jaguar XE. The sedan will also rival the third-gen Volvo S60, which will be launched in March 2021. The company is also offering a 4 year comprehensive service package as a pre-booking offer.
