The third-generation Hyundai i20 is ready to hit roads on 5th November, 2020. Official bookings have already been commenced at a token sum of Rs 21,000. The carmaker has confirmed that the 2020 Hyundai i20 will come in Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O) variants and multiple engine and gearbox options. There will be three powertrains – a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol (83PS/114Nm), a 1.0L turbo petrol (120PS/175Nm) and a 1.5L diesel (100PS/240Nm).
The naturally-aspirated petrol motor will come with a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox and the turbo-petrol unit can be had with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The diesel will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The entry-level Magna trim will be available with 1.2L petrol manual and 1.5L diesel manual powertrains.

The Sportz variant will come with three engine-gearbox combinations – 1.2L petrol with manual and CVT, 1.0L turbo petrol with iMT and 1.5L with manual. The Asta trim won’t have diesel engine option. It can be had with either 1.2L petrol (MT and CVT) or 1.0L turbo petrol (iMT and 7-speed DCT) motor. The fully-loaded Asta (O) variant will be available with three engine and gearbox combo – 1.2L petrol with manual, 1.0L turbo petrol with 7-speed DCT and 1.5L with manual.
The South Korean carmaker will offer the 2020 Hyundai i20 in 8 colour options (6 monotone and 2 dual-tone). The monotone shades include Metallic Copper, Polar White, Starry Night, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red and Titan Grey. The dual-tone paint schemes are Fiery Red with Black roof and Polar White with Black roof. The new-generation i20 will be packed features such as segment’s largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bose audio system, sunroof, climate control, in-cabin air purifier, cruise control, wireless smartphone charging, tyre pressure monitoring system and more.
