2020 Hyundai i20 Features Leaked; Reaches Dealerships

The third-generation Hyundai i20 is ready to hit showrooms in the first week of November, 2020. Ahead of its official launch, the carmaker has begun dispatching the premium hatchback at dealerships across the nation. The recently leaked spy picture of the 2020 Hyundai i20 Asta (O) variant has revealed feature details of the model. The spotted model was equipped with the 1.0L turbo petrol engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The premium hatchback features dual-tone interior theme with leatherette upholstery. One of its major highlights is the segment’s largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Features such as sunroof, Bose sound system, in-cabin air purifier, climate control, multi function steering wheel, centre armrest on front and rear seats, cruise control and wireless smartphone charging are reserved for the higher trims.

The 2020 Hyundai i20 will be the first car in its segment to offer tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The hatchback will also offer some advanced safety fitments such as hill hold assist and traction control along with 6 airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and more. Hyundai will offer the third-generation i20 with three engine options including two petrol and one diesel motor. There will be a 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol engine making 83PS and 114Nm. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic unit. The hatchback will also be offered with a more powerful 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine pushing out 120PS with 175Nm. It will be available with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The diesel model will be packed with a 1.5L unit paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The oil burner will produce a peak power of 100PS against 240Nm of torque.
