Hero MotoCorp has listed the 2020 Xtreme 200S B6-compliant model on its official website hinting at its imminent launch. The fully-faired bike was first launched in May 2019 at Rs 98,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated model is likely to witness a minor price hike of around Rs 10,000. The 2020 Hero Xtreme 200S will feature the same 200cc air-cooled engine that will be upgraded to meet the BS6 emission standards.
In its BS4 form, the motor produces a peak power of 18.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It’s a conventional, carbureted, air-cooled two-valve unit paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The power and torque figures of the BS6-compliant engine are likely to remain unchanged. Besides the updated motor, the 2020 Hero Xtreme 200S BS6 might also receive a new paint scheme. Braking system of the fully-faired bike will include the same 276mm and 220mm disc front and rear brakes respectively. The single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) will continue to come as standard fitment. Suspension duties will be done by the same telescopic front forks and a 7-step adjustable monoshock rear unit.
No cosmetic and feature changes are likely to be made to the bike. It will continue to feature the full LED headlamp, taillight and a Bluetooth-enabled fully-digital LCD instrument cluster displaying information such as turn-by-turn navigation, gear position indicator, trip meter and service reminder alert.
In latest updates, Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson signed a distribution and licensing agreement. Under this partnership, the Indian two-wheeler brand will be responsible for the sales and services of the Harley Davidson motorcycles. It will also take care of selling Harley-Davidson components, accessories, general merchandise, apparels and riding gears. Hero MotoCorp will also develop and sell a range of premium motorcycles under the Harley Davidson brand name.
