Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming MPV will be based on the Spacia, a model currently available in the Japanese market. Positioned as a mini MPV measuring under four meters in length, it will offer a 7-seater configuration. Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki is also developing a new hybrid system for its mass-market products, comprising a series hybrid powertrain offering enhanced cost-effectiveness compared to Toyota’s strong hybrid technology. The Fronx facelift will be the first model to showcase Maruti Suzuki’s HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain, followed by the new-gen Baleno, mini MPV, and Swift. As a result, the new Maruti family car (MPV) is expected to deliver impressive mileage, with fuel efficiency surpassing 35kmpl. Prices for the model are anticipated to commence from Rs 6 lakh onwards.
