Tata Curvv ICE Version Launching This Festive Season

Tata Motors has recently showcased the Curvv SUV Coupe at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show in Delhi. The company has also confirmed that the SUV will be offered with multiple powertrain options including the petrol, diesel and EV. While the EV is scheduled to be launched in mid-2024 (around July-September), the ICE version will arrive sometime in the end of 2024 (most probably during festive season in October-November).

The Tata Curvv’s ICE version will be offered with two powertrain options – a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel. The turbo petrol engine debuted in the Curvv concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The all-aluminium engine is capable of producing 125PS of power and 225Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission).

The diesel engine is the same unit that powers the Nexon sub-4 meter SUV. This powertrain is capable of producing 115bhp and a peak torque of 260Nm. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual and an AMT unit. The company could also offer the CNG version of the Curvv SUV Coupe.

Tata Curvv EV

The Curvv EV battery pack and electric motor details are yet to be revealed. It is likely to be packed with a bigger battery pack compared to the Nexon EV. We expect the new Curvv EV to offer a range of up to 500km on a single charge. The electric SUV will be based on the Acti-ev platform that also underpins the Punch EV. This versatile architecture will also underpin the Harrier EV and the Sierra.
