Hyundai Motor India is gearing up to bring in two new cars in the coming months. The carmaker has already commenced pre-bookings for the new-generation Verna at Rs 25,000. Its prices are expected to be announced by May 2023. The Hyundai Venue that received a mid-life update mid last year, is now ready to come with a new diesel engine. Updated Hyundai Venue
The 2023 Hyundai Venue model lineup will come with a new and more powerful 1.5L turbo diesel engine that does duty in the Creta and Seltos. The new oil burner is capable to return a claimed power of 115bhp and 240Nm of torque. It will come as a replacement to the existing 1.5L diesel motor that’s good enough for 100bhp. The new diesel unit has a VGT (variable geometry turbo) and it meets RDE (Real Driving Emissions) norms. The updated Venue diesel will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The SUV’s petrol engine will remain intact and no other changes will be made to its interior and exterior.
New-Gen Hyundai Verna
The next-generation Hyundai Verna will receive design changes inspired by the new Grandeur sedan that’s sold in global markets. Some of its styling bits will be similar to the new Tucson SUV and Elantra sedan. The carmaker has confirmed that the 2023 Hyundai Verna will be offered with two 1.5L petrol engines – one is naturally aspirated and one is turbocharged. There will be no diesel engine option. The turbo-petrol motor makes a top power of 160bhp with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The naturally aspirated gasoline unit can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a iVT gearbox. Both engines are RDE and E20 compliant. The sedan model lineup will come in EX, S, SX and SX (O) trims.
