2 Electric SUVs Launching Soon – Key Details

Auto enthusiasts, get ready for some excitement as the next couple of months will be action-packed with new product launches. While there will be several new SUVs across segments, the EV (electric vehicle) space will also witness exciting unveilings from Mahindra and MG. Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to showcase its 5 new electric SUVs (in their concept form) on 15th August 2022 in the U.K.

The home-grown automaker has also confirmed that it will roll out the electric iteration of the Mahindra XUV300 subcompact SUV in September. Besides this, MG Motor India will soon introduce the entry-level ZS EV Excite variant with bigger battery pack. Here’re key details of both upcoming electric SUVs.

Mahindra XUV400 EV

The production-ready version of the XUV300 is reported to be named – Mahindra XUV400. Interestingly, the electric SUV will be longer than its petrol counterpart. The carmaker will source the high-energy-dense NMC batteries from LG Chem, which are said to be superior than the cylindrical LFP batteries available on the Tata Nexon EV. These cells will also ensure longer range and more power. The new XUV400 is likely to promise a range of over 400km on a full charge. Design of the final model could be slightly different from the concept that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. More details here…

MG ZS EV Excite With Bigger Battery

2022 MG ZS EV Bookings

MG ZS EV Excite, the entry-level variant of the electric SUV, will receive the bigger 50.3kWh battery pack. The setup will enable it to deliver a claimed range of 461km on a single charge. It has an electric motor that makes a top power of 174bhp and 280Nm of torque. With bigger capacity battery, the new Excite variant can do 0 to 100kmph in 8.5 seconds.
