1100 Renault Kiger Delivered On the 1st Day of Sales

Deliveries of the newly-launched Renault Kiger have been commenced across the nation. On the very first day of its sales, the carmaker has handed over 1,100 units of the subcompact SUV to customers. The model has been made available in five trims (RxE, RxL, RxT and RxZ) and four engine-gearbox combinations. It can be had with either a 1.0L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol or a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The new Renault small SUV comes with three gearbox options – a 5-speed manual (standard), a 5-speed AMT (naturally aspirated variant only) and a 5-speed CVT automatic (turbo petrol variant only). The higher turbo-petrol variants offer three driving modes – Eco, Normal and Sports. The turbo-petrol engine with manual gearbox is claimed to deliver fuel economy of 20kmpl (ARAI certified).

Inside the cabin, the Kiger has a layered dashboard with glossy black and chrome highlights on the centre console and steering wheel. One of its major attractions is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated on the dashboard above the central AC vents. The system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The small SUV also comes equipped with features such as a 7.0-inch TFT digital instrumentation display, Arkamys audio system, a PM2.5 air filter, keyless entry, automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging and more. With respect to dimensions, the Renault Kiger measures 3991mm in length, 1750mm in width and 1600mm in height with a 2500mm long wheelbase. It’s claimed to provide the best-in-segment space between the front headrests (710mm), rear legroom (220mm) and elbow room (1431mm). In fact, the new Renault subcompact SUV offers a class leading boot space of 405-litres that can be increased to 879-litres with the rear seat folded. The model has been assembled with 16-inch alloy wheels and 195/65 R16 tyres.
