Nissan Magnite, the newly-launched subcompact SUV, has been doing really well for the Japanese carmaker in the country. In February 2021, the carmaker sold over 4,000 units and 70% sales contribution came from the Magnite. The company received over 40,000 bookings and delivered 6582 units of the small SUV so far.
The model was made available at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh. Nissan increased price of its base variant by 50,000 in January and now its turbo-petrol variants witnessed a price hike of up to Rs 30,000.

The Magnite model lineup includes four naturally aspirated petrol and eight turbo-petrol variants. While the former comes in the price range of Rs 5.49 lakh – Rs 7.55 lakh, the latter one cost between Rs 7.29 lakh – Rs 9.75 lakh. The CVT automatic models are now available from Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 9.75 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The Japanese carmaker confirmed that it will increase production of the compact SUV at its Chennai based plant. The facility has production capacity of 480,000 units per annum. The carmaker will deploy an additional 1,000 workforce to reduce its waiting period to up to 2-3 months. Engine setup of the Nissan Magnite includes a 72bhp, 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 99bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol unit. It comes with three gearbox options – 5-speed manual, AMT and CVT.
Nissan has equipped the Magnite with a few class-leading features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 360 degree camera. The list also includes high-end JBL speakers, air purifier, ambient mood lighting, Nissan Connect connected car technology, leather wrapped steering with grey stitching, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear view camera with parking guideline, voice recognition control and more.
