10 Facts About The Upcoming Hyundai Alcazar 7-Seater SUV

The long-awaited Hyundai Alcazar 3-row SUV will be released in the Indian market on June 18, 2021. Based on the modified Creta’s platform, the new Alcazar will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the Mahindra XUV500. The new Alcazar SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 13 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

Interested buyers can pre-book the SUV online or through Hyundai dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. Ahead of the launch, Hyundai has revealed some of the key features and interior images of the Alcazar. 1. Engine & Transmission

The new Hyundai Alcazar will come with two engine options – a 2.0L petrol and a 1.5L Turbo-diesel. While the former is good for 159PS of power and 192Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 115PS of power and 250Nm of torque. Transmission will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The petrol version is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 9.5 seconds.

2. Fuel Efficiency

The Alcazar petrol manual and automatic offers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 14.5kmpl and 14.2kmpl respectively. The diesel Alcazar is the most fuel efficient in its category, as it returns 20.4kmpl with manual gearbox and 18.1kmpl with automatic gearbox.

Hyundai Alcazar comes with three driving modes – Sport, Comfort and Eco. Adding to it, the vehicle offers three control modes – Snow, Sand and Mud.

4. Six-and 7-seat Options

The Alcazar SUV will be offered in 6-and 7-seat options. The six-seater model will come with captain’s seats in the second row, while the 7-seater model will have a bench-type arrangement for the second row. The second row seats get a sliding function, and the seats can be adjusted to free up more space for the second or third row passengers. The third-row seat comes with reclining function, and can be fully folded down to create large boot area. The six-seater version gets independent floor-mounted armrest with storage space. The third row can only be accessed via the second row seat’s one-touch tumble mechanism.

5. Wireless Smartphone Charger 2nd Row

The new Hyundai Alcazar 3-row SUV comes with wireless charging system. In fact, this feature is also available for the second row occupants. The central console in the second row has a wireless smartphone charger, which is a segment-first feature.

For music lovers, the new Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV comes fitted with a premium Bose sound system, with 8 speakers.

8. Top-end Variant To Be Sold Via Hyundai Signature Outlets

The Hyundai Alcazar SUV will be offered in 6 variants – Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature and Signature (O). If reports are to be believed, the top-spec Hyundai Alcazar ‘Signature’ trim will be sold exclusively via Hyundai Signature Outlets. The Signature trim will be allocated to big dealers who have multiple outlets in metro cities and sell larger volumes.

9. Colour Options

The new 7-seater Alcazar SUV will come in 6 single-tone paint colour along with two dual-tone paint options. The single-tone colors include Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Polar White, Starry Night and Phantom Black. The dual-tone colour options will include Polar White with Black roof, and Titan Grey with Black roof.

10. Segment-Largest Wheelbase, Boot Space

The new Alcazar 3-row SUV is claimed to offer a boot space of 180-litres, which is also the segment-largest.  The Tata Safari offers 73-litres boot space, while the Hector Plus and the XUV500 offers 155-litres and 93-litres of boot space respectively.

The new Hyundai Alcazar rides on a 2760mm wheelbase, which is 150mm more than the Creta’s wheelbase. In fact, the Alcazar has the longest wheelbase in its category. The Tata Safari has a wheelbase of 2,741mm, while the MG Hector Plus rides on 2,750mm of wheelbase.
