Tata Motors seems aggressive with its product expansion plans for the highly competitive Indian market. The company launched the Zest compact sedan last year, which has received an overwhelming response from car buyers. Now, the homegrown automaker is aiming to launch new cars and facelifts this year under its HORIZONEXT umbrella. Here is the list of upcoming Tata Cars in 2015.
Tata Bolt:
Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the Tata Bolt hatchback is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated cars of this year. The hatchback is based on the thoroughly modified X1 platform, and it will come as a replacement for the ageing Vista. Just like the Zest compact sedan, the hatchback will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol version gets the 1.2-litre REVOTRON engine, the oil burner is the tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet unit.
Launch Date- January 20th
Competition- Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Swift
Price- Rs. 4 lakh to 6.5 lakh
Tata Nano Twist Active (AMT):
Tata Motors is trying hard to revive the Nano brand in the country. The company has been testing the updated Nano, which will also get AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). The inclusion of the AMT gearbox is the biggest addition to this small car. This transmission allows driver to change gears either manually or fully automatically. It also costs lesser than the conventional gearbox. Talking about interior changes, the small car gets better quality plastic, new electric power assisted steering, new instrument cluster, front power windows and new upholstery on seats. On the outside, the hatch has open-able tailgate, black Tata’s smiling grille, fog lamps, and black outlines to headlamps.

Tata Kite:
Tata Motors is also working on a new project- named as “Kite”, which comprises of low cost hatchback and compact sedan. The hatchback will come as a replacement for the Indica hatch. It will sit below the Bolt hatchback and will compete against the likes of Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Celerio, Ford Figo and Hyundai i10. The small car will get better exterior styling and good quality interiors. The small car will be powered by a 1.05-litre diesel engine producing 64bhp and a 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Launch Date- Q3, 2015
Price- Rs. 3.5 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh
Competition- Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Celerio, Hyundai i10 and Ford Figo
Tata Safari Storme Facelift:
Just like the Nano, Tata Motors is also trying hard to revive the Safari brand in the country. The Safari Storme facelift has been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads, and gets changes to both exteriors and interiors. The SUV gets slightly modified front fascia with new honeycomb grille and restyled bumper. Inside, the car has new infotainment system, and better quality seats. It is also expected that the updated Strome will get the more powerful version of the 2.2-litre VARICOR turbo diesel engine that produces 148bhp of power and 320Nm of torque.
