Toyota has taken the wraps off the much-awaited C-HR compact SUV concept at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The crossover concept shows the futuristic design language of Toyota. According to Toyota, “The concept combines a new, dynamic design language with an agile and engaging drive to create a new proposition for the demanding European car market.”
The Toyota C-HR concept introduces a new Toyota vehicle architecture. The sculpted lower bodywork offers an aggressive look, while the corners of the bodyshell have been cleanly shaved off which reduces overall mass. The vehicle shows lower and wider body style and it features a flared wheel arches to offer sporty character to it. At the front, the C-HR concept features a slim upper grille design that is evolved in to a floating ‘wing’ graphic. The grille is complemented by sharper headlamps that features a high-tech, 3D treatment of the daytime running lights. The large lower grille is flanked by strongly sculpted downward projections, underscored by a floating front spoiler.
The glasshouse extends backwards to meet the rear screen, which offers a floating roofline, tipped with a spoiler. At the back, the sharply tapering glasshouse offers a broad and planted appearance. Like the front, the rear also features an aero-inspired floating light clusters.

It uses a new full hybrid powertrain that will deliver significantly improved fuel efficiency. The production version of the C-HR concept is likely to be unveiled in 2015, while the launch expected in 2016.
