Ssangyong Motors have unveiled the XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure SUV at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The SUV concepts are equipped with several new technologies including a Start/Stop fuel saving system and three model smart steering with electric power assistance, in addition to an all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
For passengers’ comfort and convenience, the SUVs gets several features including a smart RDS & Bluetooth audio system, digital dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated driver’s seat, a sunroof and trip computer, rear view parking camera, etc. On safety front, this SUV has ESP, seven air bags (dual front, side, curtain and driver’s knee) and HID headlights.
The XIV-Air features a T-top targa roof, which is a first in its league, which allows driver and passengers to enjoy nature within their daily life. On the other hand, the XIV Adventure features a more off-road focused which is equipped with a heavy-duty bumpers, search light and roof rack. It features a slim, wide grille, headlights built into the structural design, and a rugged tailgate completes the SUV style of the XIV Adventure, which closely echoing the Ssangyong ‘look’.
The XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure are propelled by either a 1.6-litre petrol or 1.6-litre diesel engine, and meet the latest exacting Euro 6 emission standards. The vehicle comes with combinations of 6-speed manual and automatic transmission, two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive system. The electric power assisted steering and Start/Stop system that minimize power loss.
