BYD Atto 3 electric SUV has finally been unveiled for the Indian market. While its prices will be revealed a month later, buyers can book it now by paying a sum of Rs 50,000. The carmaker has confirmed that the deliveries for the first 500 units will begin from January 2023.
With an estimated price of around 30 lakh (ex-showroom), the Atto 3 will take on the Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV that cost between Rs 23.84 lakh – Rs 24.03 lakh and Rs 22.58 lakh – Rs 26.50 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
Based on the e 3.0 platform, the Atto 3 will be the second electric offering from the Chinese automaker in India. Here, it will come via SKD (semi-knocked down) route and assembled at the brand’s Sriperumbudur based plant near Chennai. Read – BYD e6 Electric MPV – All Key Details
Electric Powertrain
The new BYD electric SUV will be made available with a 60kWh BYD Blade battery that delivers an ARAI-certified range of 521km on a full charge. There is a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor generating a claimed power of 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. The smaller capacity battery version accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. Its battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes.
Dimensions & Colours
The Atto 3 measures 4455mm in length, 1875mm in width and 1615mm in height. It sits on a 2720mm long wheelbase. It can be had in four colour options, namely, Surf Blue, Boulder Grey, Ski White and Parkour Red.
Interior & Features
The BYD Atto 3 is one of the feature-packed electric SUVs in its segment. It has a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The EV comes with a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS technology, a 360 degree camera and, wireless charging, a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls.
Features such as 6-way power adjustable driver seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, a panoramic sunroof, driver and front passenger heated seats, synthetic leather seats, an 8-speaker audio system, automatic climate control and PM 2.5 air filter enhance its comfort quotient.
The electric SUV has all LED lighting system and an electric opening for a tailgate. On the safety front, the new BYD Atto 3 electric SUV offers 7 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, electronic brakeforce distribution, anti-lock braking system, traction control, hill decent control, a seat belt reminder system and a speed alert system.
