Mahindra XUV400 Electric Sunroof, Design Details Revealed – Spied

Mahindra has recently 5 new electric SUV concepts, which will start arriving in our market from 2024. These electric SUVs are based on the born-electric platform, which has components from Volkswagen (MEB EV architecture). Before introducing these Born electric SUVs, Mahindra will introduce the locally developed electric SUV, called the Mahindra XUV400 on September 8, 2022.

Mahindra has already teased the new XUV400 electric SUV, which reveals the LED lights and new Mahindra logo finished in Bronze. The new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is based on SsangYong Tivoli’s X100 platform that underpins the sub-4 meter XUV300. The new XUV400 electric SUV will measure around 4.2 meters in length. It has been spotted testing revealing the electric sunroof and design details.

The new Mahindra XUV400 electric shares styling cues from the XUV300 electric concept, which was unveiled at 2020 Auto Expo. The SUV gets similar headlamp design with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). The profile of the new XUV400 looks similar to the original Tivoli, which also measures 4.2 meters in length. Mahindra has to reduce the length to achieve sub-4 meter length of the XUV300 compact SUV. The bigger dimensions will help Mahindra to create more space inside the cabin and bigger boot.

The new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will come with newly styled 17-inch alloy wheels. It is also expected to receive rear air-con vents, which is missing on the XUV300. It comes with more modern styling elements inspired by the new breed of Mahindra SUVs.

Mahindra XUV400 is expected to come with several segment-first features including ADAS tech. Inside the cabin, the new Mahindra XUV400 is expected to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Adreno X connected car AI technology.

XUV400 side profile

The new XUV400 electric is most likely to offer NMC cells sourced from LG Chem. It is reported that the cells are superior than the cylindrical LFP cells used in Tata’s Nexon EV. The new model is expected to offer around 150bhp of power and a claimed range of over 400km. It is expected to feature 40 to 45 kWh battery pack.
