French automaker, Citroen had launched the C5 Aircross flagship in our market in 2021 via the SKD or semi-knocked-down route. The company has also launched the locally developed C3 hatchback in the Indian market on July 20, 2022. Citroen is now ready to launch the new C5 Aircross facelift in the country. In fact, 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross has been officially teased on the brand’s social media channels.
The updated C5 Aircross is already on sale in the international markets. The global-spec model is offered with a 1.5-litre diesel, petrol and petrol-hybrid options. The company has discontinued the 2.0-litre diesel engine from the global model. The India-spec 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross will continue to be offered with the existing 177bhp, 2.0-litre diesel engine. The C5 Aircross’ diesel engine will continue to be offered with an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross facelift will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, VW Tiguan and the Skoda Kodiaq. The C5 Aircross and the Tucson are the only SUVs in its category to offer diesel engine options.
2022 Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift
The new model comes with a significantly revised front fascia, featuring a more traditional look. The previous model was equipped with split headlamp design; however, the facelifted model gets a single-piece wraparound unit with LED DRL signature. The revised bumper accommodates large air-dam, which is flanked by vents for improved aerodynamics. It has new alloy wheels and revised tail-lights with rectangular lighting elements & darkened finish.
Inside the cabin, the new Citroen C5 Aircross facelift gets a larger, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity. The air conditioning vents are placed below the touch, while the touch-based switchgears go further below the air-con vents. The gear lever for the automatic gearbox is now replaced by a toggle switch unit. The SUV is claimed to offer better cushioned front seats with 15mm additional paddling. The front sets also come with heating and cooling functions. The SUV also gets additional USB ports and wireless charging
