3 New SUVs Launching Next Week – XUV400, New C5 Aircross

The rising demand for SUVs has prompted automakers to bring newer models in the Indian market. This year, we have witnessed the launches of new Maruti Brezza, Mahindra Scorpio-N, Hyundai Venue facelift, Tata Nexon EV Max, Tata Jet Editions, Kia Sonet X-Line and others. In the next 7 days, a total of 3 new SUVs will be launched in the Indian market.

Hyundai Venue N-Line

Hyundai India has announced to launch the sportier Venue N-Line in the country on September 6, 2022. The new Hyundai Venue N-Line can be booked online or at Hyundai Signature outlets across country by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. The company has also released the exterior and interior pictures of the SUV, which reveals the key changes over the standard model. The SUV gets a dark chrome grille with N Line emblem, red highlights on the bumper, fender, side sill and roof rails, a new diamond cut R16 alloy wheels with red branding, a sporty tailgate spoiler, N Line moniker on the side fenders and tailgate, and red brake calipers.

The sportier theme continues inside the cabin as well. It gets an all-black interior scheme with red inserts on seats, gear knob, centre console and dashboard. The black coloured upholstery comes with contrasting red stitching. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a Bose premium sound system, an electric sunroof and others. The Venue N-Line will be powered by a 120bhp, 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 7-speed DCT.

Citroen is all set to launch the new C5 Aircross facelift in India on September 7, 2022. The new model will come with cosmetic design changes and upgraded interior. It will continue to be offered with the existing 177bhp, 2.0-litre diesel engine with an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. It will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, VW Tiguan and the Skoda Kushaq.

The SUV will come with a significantly revised front fascia, featuring a more traditional look. It gets a single-piece wraparound unit with LED DRL signature instea of a split headlamp design in the existing model. It gets revised front bumper with larger air-dam, and new alloy wheels, and revised tail-lights with rectangular lighting elements & darkened finish. Inside the cabin, the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross will come with a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, revised central console and touch-based switchgears. The gear lever for the automatic gearbox is now replaced by a toggle switch unit. The SUV is claimed to offer better cushioned front seats with 15mm additional paddling. The front sets also come with heating and cooling functions. The SUV also gets additional USB ports and wireless charging.

The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is all set to launch the new XUV400 electric SUV on September 8, 2022. The new model will be based on the modified version of SsangYong’s X100 platform that underpins the XUV300. It will measure around 4.2 meters in length, making it larger than the sub-4 meter XUV300. Set to rival the new Tata Nexon EV Max and the MG ZS EV, the Mahindra XUV400 is expected to come with several segment-first features including ADAS tech.

The overall styling of the XUV400 is heavily inspired by the eXUV300 concept, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, it comes with more modern styling elements inspired by the new breed of Mahindra SUVs. The new model will come with the high-energy-dense NMC battery sourced from LG Chem. It is reported that the cells are superior than the cylindrical LFP cells used in Tata’s Nexon EV. It is expected to deliver a range of over 400km on a full charge.
