Tata Motors will launch the new Tigor electric on August 31, 2021. The electric car has already started reaching dealerships, and the spy images reveal some interesting details. The new Tata Tigor electric will be the brand’s second model to feature the Ziptron EV technology, which we have already seen on the Nexon EV.
Tata Motors has already confirmed that the Ziptron powered electric vehicles will offer a minimum range of 250km. The new powertrain will significantly improve the overall performance of the sedan compared to the X-Pres T, which offers a range of 213km.
The new Tata Tigor Electric comes fitted with a 55kW electric motor and a 26kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This powertrain offers 74bhp (55kW) of power and 170Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer 0 to 60kmph acceleration in just 5.9 seconds. This is significantly higher than the one offered by Xpres-T powertrain, which offers 41hp and 105Nm of torque. While most of the details about the car has been revealed, the company hadn’t revealed the key information i.e. the range.
The latest spy images reveal that the new Tata Tigor Electric could offer a range around 350km. The spotted model shows the battery charge level of 59% and the remaining range of 204km. Going by the leaked picture, it is clear that the Tigor EV will offer an estimated range of 345km on 100% charge. This is higher than the Nexon EV, which is claimed to offer a range of 312km.
The Tata Tigor EV comes fitted with a IP 67 rated battery pack. The company also offers 8 years and 160000km battery and motor warranty. It gets impact resistant battery pack casing. The Tigor electric battery can be charged from 0 to 180% in about 1 hour using fast charging, and around 8.5 hours using standard home charger. The Ziptron tech also allows for regenerative braking system.
