Ford has started testing the next generation Everest SUV (Called Endeavour in India), and the prototype of the SUV was caught testing in Australia. Based on the spy images, a new rendering of the next-gen Ford Endeavour has been released on the Internet. Not just rendering, engine options and other details have also been revealed.
The report claims that the next-gen Ford Endeavour will come with a V6 turbo diesel engine, which was offered on the Ford F-Series pick-up. This engine will come as an optional with the new Everest, which is expected to be unveiled in 2022. The V6 turbo diesel will also power the next-gen Ranger pick-up, which will come in early next year.
As standard, the next-gen Ford Endeavour will come with a twin-turbo 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel that powers the existing model. The global model will miss out the 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel engine. Instead of a 5-cylinder engine, the new model is most likely to get a 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 paired to a 10-speed automatic.
The next-gen Ford Endeavour will be the most powerful model in its category. The 7-seater model will have four-wheel-drive system. It is expected to produce around 254bhp of power and 600Nm of torque. It is reported that the next-gen Ford Endeavour will come with radar cruise control and speed sign recognition as standard. Adding to it, the SUV will also come equipped with features like blind zone warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and a more advanced autonomous emergency braking system.
The top-spec model is likely to get the option of large digital screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment displays, along with an optional over-the-air connectivity. Previous reports suggest that the new model will also receive an off-road focused Wildtrack X variant. It is likely to come in six trim levels with a mix of two- and 4-wheel drive models – Ambiente, Trend, Trend Sport, Wildtrak X, Titanium and Platinum. The SUV is also likely to get a new 2.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine with a plug-in hybrid system, which is likely to produce around 270bhp and 680Nm of torque.
