2014 Nissan Sunny facelift specifications and variants revealed

We were the first one to reveal that Nissan will launch the Sunny facelift on July 3rd, 2014. The updated Sunny sedan now gets refreshed look and is equipped with new features. The mid-life facelift share its styling cues with the Teana saloon, and it looks bigger and contemporary than its predecessor.

The Nissan Sunny facelift will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol version will be powered by a 1.5-litre engine that produces 98bhp, the oil burner will get a 1.5-litre dCi mill producing 84bhp. Both the engines will be paired five-speed manual transmission; however, the petrol model will also get a CVT gearbox.

The Nissan Sunny facelift will come in three trim levels- XE, XL and XV. The top-spec XV model will only be offered with a diesel powertrain and two accessories packs- Premium Pack 1 and Premium Pack 2.

The base Sunny XE trim gets driver side airbag, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with brake assist as standard safety features. Other features include body coloured bumpers, dual trip meter, black door handles, fuel consumption indicator, cup holders, tilt adjustable steering column and others.

The mid-level XL variant gets all the standard features that are available in the lower spec XE trim. Adding to it, this model has chrome front grille, body coloured ORVMs, rear defogger, 2-DIN stereo with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, speed sensing volume control, rear armrest, steering mounted audio controls, rear parking sensors, drivers’ height adjustable seat, anti-theft alarm. This trim also comes with automatic transmission gearbox in petrol engine.

The top spec XV trim will only offer with diesel powertrain. It is equipped with alloy wheels, fog lamps for improved visibility in darkness, chrome door handles, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators, chrome embellishments on bumper and boot, display for the 2-DIN audio system, start/stop button, rear view camera, rear AC vents, and dual airbags.

The two accessories packs with the top-spec XV variant gets leather upholstery on seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear level, while the premium pack 2 gets all the standard features and side airbags.
