Yamaha FZS-FI Dark Knight Gets Bluetooth Connectivity; Price 1.08 Lakh

Yamaha Motor India has introduced a new Bluetooth enabled technology that offers host of safety and practical features to the customers. The new “Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X” Application with Bluetooth enabled technology is available on the Yamaha FZS-FI Dark Night BSVI variant. However, entire FZ-FI and FZS-FI BSVI motorcycles can upgrade to this technology by buying the device as an accessory at Yamaha dealerships.

Equipped with the Bluetooth connectivity feature, the FZS-FI Dark Knight is now available at a price tag of Rs 1,07,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This variant with the new feature will be available at all the Yamaha Authorized dealerships from 1/11/2020 onwards. The company claims that the name Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X comes from the background of 2 elements – Connectivity & Innovative technology. The letter ‘X’ denotes the Connected Technology that allows a user to understand and know their bike’s performance.

The Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Application can be downloaded from Play Store or iOS Application Store for free. Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X can be enabled in just two simple steps of registration. The new Connect X Application comes with 6 main features, and the application enables the rider to connect to the bike a ‘single touch’ on the mobile. From the mobile device the rider can access features like Answer Back, E-Lock, Locate My Bike and Hazard.

Answer Back – The bike indicators start blinking and the horn starts beeping.
E-Lock – Lock your bike and prevent theft, using the E-lock feature
Locate my Bike – You can locate this bike using this feature, as the bike indicators will illuminate for 10 seconds continuously.
Hazard – This feature allows to alert and throw caution, when the bike is in distress. All 4 indicators will start blinking continuously.

The Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X also offers individual trip details like Distance, Average Speed, Brake Count and Battery Voltage. The application also stores the last parked location of the bike and helps navigate the rider from their current location to the bike using GPS.

Riding History – Rider can view individual trip details of every ride.
Parking Record – Shows a route map from your current location to where you have parked your bike.

Powering the motorcycle is a 149cc air-cooled engine that produces 12.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 13.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheel via a 5-speed gearbox. The FZ series gets disc brakes at the front and rear with single-channel ABS system.
