German automaker, Volkswagen has officially launched the Virtus 1.5 TSI with a six-speed manual gearbox. The new VW Virtus 1.5 TSI manual version is available at a price tag of Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Adding to it, the VW Taigun GT Plus has been launched with both manual and DSG automatic gearboxes. The new Taigun GT Plus is now available at a starting price of Rs 17.79 lakh, ex-showroom. Adding to it, Volkswagen has launched the new special exterior colour options for the Virtus and Taigun range.
Virtus GT Plus MT variant
The Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 GT was earlier offered in a single fully-loaded trim and was offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This model is now available with a six-speed manual gearbox. With the addition of a new manual gearbox, the new VW Virtus sedan is now more accessible to a wider audience.
The VW Virtus sedan is now available with two engine options – a 115bhp, 1.0-litre TSI and a 150bhp, 1.5L TSI. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with 1.0L TSI and a 7-speed DSG with 1.5L TSI.
Taigun GT Plus MT, Taigun GT DSG
The VW Taigun 1.5 TSI also comes with the manual gearbox option with the top-spec GT Plus trim. This trim was earlier offered with the DSG automatic gearbox. Adding to it, the lower GT trim with the 1.5 TSI engine also gets the DSG automatic gearbox. This was earlier available with the manual gearbox.
New Colour Options
Volkswagen has also added the GT Limited Collection with Taigun GT Plus DSG and GT Plus MT. It is offered in two new colour options – Deep Black Pearl or Carbon Steel Grey matte finish. Similarly, the Virtus GT Plus DSG and GT Plus MT also come with the Deep Black Pearl paint shade. Volkswagen said that the new variants can be booked online only and will be produced on a made-to-order basis.
