Volkswagen has again started India sales of the VW T-ROC SUV. The 2021 Volkswagen T-ROC is now available at a price tag of Rs 21.35 lakh, which is Rs 1.36 lakh higher than the 2020 model.
Interested buyers can pre-book the 2021 Volkswagen T-ROC by paying a token amount of Rs 51,000. Deliveries of the new model are expected to commence in April 2021. The SUV will be brought as a CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit) from Volkswagen’s Polant Plant. This model comes under the Government’s approval of importing 2,500 cars without going through local homologation process.
For people not in the know, Volkswagen had launched the T-ROC SUV in March 2020. The first batch of around 1,000 T-ROC’s were sold out in a few months. The previous model was introduced at Rs 19.99 lakh. It is positioned between the upcoming Taigun mid-sized SUV and the Tiguan AllSpace.
The 2021 Volkswagen T-ROC is powered by the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Karoq SUV. Paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, this engine produces a maximum power of 147bhp and a peak torque of 250Nm. It accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in 8.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 205kmph. The SUV is offered with VW’s 4Motion drivetrain system.
The SUV will continue to offered in 6 colour options – Energetic Orange, Pure White, Curcuma Yellow, Indium Grey, Ravenna Blue and a single tone Deep Black Pear. All shades come with the standard black roof. The SUV measures 4,229mm in length and sits on a 2,595mm long wheelbase. It is equipped with high-end safety and security features such as 6 airbags, traction control, MSR (Motor Slip Regulation), ABS, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and electronic differential lock and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme).
In terms of features, the SUV gets LED headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail-lamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Vienna leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control and a digital instrument console.
