Upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – New Details Out

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been on test for a long time and we have seen its test mules multiple times. The latest set of spy images reveals that the bike will have a large single pod circular instrument console. As you know, the existing Himalayan 411 comes with an analog speedo with a small LCD display along with a small analog tachometer, fuel meter, digital compass and a circular Tripper navigation screen. The bike also gets a new instrument cluster inclined towards the rider.

Engine details of the RE Himalayan 450 are yet to be revealed. It’s likely to come with a 450cc engine delivering power close to 30hbp and 40Nm of torque. It could be the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to feature a liquid-cooled engine and underpin the double-cradle frame with a bolt-on subframe. The spy images suggest that the bike might have Showa’s USD fork suspension at the front axle and monoshock unit at the rear. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed gearbox.

The new Himalayan 450 will derive its braking power from the front and rear disc brakes. It will get dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The bike could be assembled with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. Dimensionally, it will be similar to its 400cc sibling – i.e. 2190mm long, 840mm width and 1360mm height.

The company hasn’t yet revealed its launch timeline. Though, the reports suggest that the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will debut in the second half of 2023. Here, it will be positioned against the adventure bikes such as KTM 390 Adventure and BMW 310 GS. It will also challenge the upcoming Hero 450 ADV and Yezdi bike. As far as pricing is concerned, the RE Himalayan 450 is expected to cost around Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom).

More details on the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 are likely to be revealed in near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
