Upcoming Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW Cars In 2024

Mercedes-Benz is currently the top-selling luxury car manufacturer in the Indian market. However, Audi and BMW are also preparing to introduce a wide range of new cars and SUVs in our market. In order to remain at the pole position, Mercedes-Benz is now planning to introduce around 9 new cars and SUVs in the Indian market before the end of 2024.

Audi is ready to introduce the updated version of the Q8 SUV in our market in the first quarter of 2024. The new model has received cosmetic changes inside and out. It also comes with Audi’s globally popular HD Matrix LED headlights. It is powered by the same 340hp, 3.0L V6 turbo petrol engine with Quattro AWD system and an 8-speed automatic gearbox option.

Audi Q6 e-tron prototype

The popular Audi A6 sedan is also likely to receive a mid-life update in our market by mid-2024. It comes with subtle design changes and minor interior changes along with addition of new features. It will get an updated version of the matrix LED headlights, a prominent single-frame Audi’s grille, and revised bumpers. It will retain the existing 245hp, 2.0L mild-hybrid turbo petrol engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Audi will introduce the all-new Q6 e-tron electric SUV in the Indian market by the end of this year. It is based on the brand’s newly developed Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which has latest battery tech and new ‘E3’ electronics architecture. It is expected to offer a range of around 600km on a single charge. The electric SUV comes fitted with Audi’s new infotainment unit with twon screens in a curved layout. It features an 11.9-inch digital driver display, a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, and an additional 10.9-inch screen for the co-occupant.

The German automaker will launch the GLS facelift, GLA facelift and the GLB facelift in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2024. While the GLA & GLB facelifts will retain the existing 1.3L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines, the GLS facelift will be offered with the 3.0L turbo petrol and 3.0L turbo diesel engine options. Adding to it, the company will also launch the new GLC Coupe in the country in early 2024. It will come with latest connectivity and tech features. It will come with 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel engine options.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Mercedes-Benz will also launch the new generation E-Class sedan in the Indian market before the end of this year. Like the previous version, the new E-Class will only be offered in long-wheelbase version. The global-spec model is offered 3 screens including a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for co-passenger. It is expected to be offered with two engine options – a 2.0L turbo petrol with a 48V mild-hybrid assist and a 2.0L turbo diesel.

The company will also launch the EQG electric SUV in the country in the late 2024. It comes with a boxy styling with similarities with the G-Class SUV. It will be based on a ladder-frame chassis and is claimed to offer G-Class ICE-like capabilities and tough.

Mercedes-Benz will also launch the CLE two-door, two-plus-two seater in the Indian market by late 2024. In the global markets, the Mercedes CLE is available in both Coupe and Cabriolet layouts. The interior is likely to be shared with the C-Class and the E-Class. It is likely to come with two engine options – a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel. For performance buyers, the German automaker will also launch the new Mercedes-AMG GT in the country by mid-2024. It is larger and roomier than its predecessor, and is based on the new SL. The two-door sports coupe is powered by a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine that offers two states of tunes 476bhp in 55 4Matic+ and 585bhp in 63 4Matic+. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic.

BMW i5

BMW is expected to launch the new 5-Series and the i5 electric sedan in the Indian market by the end of 2024. The new-gen 5 Series will grow in size and will share some features with the 7-Series. It is likely to feature a twin-screen layout – a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. It will come with 2.0L petrol and diesel engines, both with 48V mild hybrid & plug-in hybrid techs. The new BMW i5 electric sedan is offered in two versions – M60 xDrive and eDrive40, both equipped with an 81.2kWh battery pack. The M60 features a twin-motor all-wheel-drive layout, while the e-Drive40 is offered with a single motor that drives the rear wheels. The AWD version is claimed to offer a range of up to 516km on a single charge, while the RWD version returns 582km of range.

MINI will also launch two new cars including the 3-door electric hatchback Mini Cooper SE and the Mini Countryman in the country in 2024. The 3-door electric hatchback is based on a bespoke EV platform, which is developed by Spotlight Automotive. It comes with an 184hp, 290Nm front-mounted electric motor and a 40.7kWh battery, and is claimed to offer a range of up to 305km on a single charge.

MINI Cooper SE

MINI will also launch the Countryman 5-door crossover in the country in mid-2024. The new model is longer and has more legroom for both front and rear occupants, and offers a boot space of 460-litres. It will be the first Mini to offer Level 2 ADAS. The Countryman crossover gets electric, turbo-petrol and diesel powertrains. The crossover is expected to get the 2.0L turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.
