Ultraviolette F77 – India’s Fastest Electric Bike To Launch By March 2022

TVS backed Ultraviolette Automotive, an electric motorcycle manufacturer has announced that its first manufacturing and assembly factory will be established near Electronic City in Bangalore. Ultraviolette Automotive will produce the much-awaited Ultraviolette F77 sports electric bike at this plant.

Production of the new F77 electric motorcycle is scheduled to commence in the beginning of 2022. The first batch of the Ultraviolette F77 motorcycles are scheduled to enter the market in March 2022. For people not in the know, the company had showcased the pre-production version of the motorcycle in November 2019.

Spread over 70,000 square feet, the new facility will produce around 15000 electric motorcycles in the first. The facility will be capable to produce up to 1,20,000 units per year. The new production plant will create 500 jobs, and the employees will be trained on EV manufacturing and assembly over the next 5 years.

Commenting on the new facility, Narayan Subramniam, founder & CEO, Ultraviolette, said, “This is an important milestone for us in our journey towards building a superior EV experience for India and international markets. We chose this location given its strategic proximity to our R&D facility in Bangalore as well as a strong supply-chain ecosystem in and around the region.”

Ultraviolette F77 Specs

Based on the steel trellis frame, the Ultraviolette F77 source its power from a 25kW electric motor that’s coupled to a three 4.2kWh lithium-ion batteries. This air-cooled motor delivers a claimed power of 33.5bhp at 2,250rpm against 90Nm of torque. It can do 0 to 60kmph in 2.9 seconds and 0 to 100kmph in 7.5 seconds.

It is claimed to offer a top speed of 147kmph. The motorcycle offers three power modes – Eco, Sport and Insane. The F77 battery can be fully charged in 5 hours using standard charger and in 1.5 hours via fast charger. It is claimed to deliver a range of 130-150km on a full charge. For braking, it gets a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. Suspension system comprises of a USD front fork and pre-load adjustable monoshock unit.
