TVS Ronin 225cc Features & Details Explained In A Video

TVS Motor Company recently introduced its first neo-retro roadster motorcycle in India – the Ronin. With the new bike, the company aims to target new-generation buyers aspiring for a motorcycle that solves day-to-day commuting purposes and good for long tours as well. The TVS Ronin 225 model lineup comes in three variants Single-tone Single Channel, Dual-tone Single Channel and Triple-tone Dual channel – priced at Rs 1.49 lakh, Rs 1.56 lakh and Rs 1.69 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom).

Sitting on a new split dual-cradle chassis, the new Ronin 225cc bike has a round LED headlamp with T-shaped LED DRL inside, retro-styled fuel tank and roadster-like side panels. The single-piece flat seat, blacked-out wheels with 17-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out engine case, all-black exhaust system with a silver top on the end-can further enhance its retro looks. The bike comes with new Remora block pattern, dual-purpose tyres. It has LED indicators placed below the seat and LED taillamp.

The Showa upside down front fork, which have gold finish, with big piston tech ensures better damping. At the rear axle, the bike has a gas charged monoshock rear suspension with a floating piston. The TVS Ronin derives its power from a 300mm disc front and a 240mm disc rear brake with standard ABS (anti-lock braking system). The bike’s top-end variant gets dual-channel ABS. Interestingly, the ABS unit has two switchable modes – Rain and Urban.

For power, the new TVS bike uses a 225.9cc, single-cylinder engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The motor has been tuned for generating power worth 201bhp at 7,750rpm and 19.93Nm at 3,750rpm. TVS claims that the Ronin can offer a top speed of 120kmph.

The bikemaker has equipped the new TVS Ronin with a full-digital instrument console and TVS SmartXonnect system offering multiple connected features. One can receive calls, get message alerts via Bluetooth connectivity along with the voice assistance and turn-by-turn navigation features.
