The Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer has introduced a new motorcycle in the country – the TVS Ronin. The bike has been offered in 3 variants (triple tone dual channel – TD, dual-tone single channel – DS and single-tone single channel – SS) priced between Rs 1.49 lakh – Rs 1.71 lakh. All aforementioned price is ex-showroom. There are 6 colour options – Galactic Grey, Dawn Orange, Delta Blue, Stangnze Black, Magma Red and Lighting Black.

The TVS Ronin features a circular LED headlamps and teardrop-shaped fuel tank giving it retro look. Its side panel is flat and it has single-piece seat with a tubular grabrail at the back. The LED taillamp and LED indicators are positioned just below the seat.
Some of its other design highlights include blacked-out engine, a large side slung exhaust with silver-coloured tip, curved fenders and exposed rear subframe. In terms of features, the bike comes equipped with a round instrument cluster and TVS’s Smart Xonnect Bluetooth connectivity system offering tour mode, ride mode, turn-by-turn navigation and voice and ride assist. The Ronin is the first bike in its segment to get silent start system (ISG). The list also includes On-the-Go handlebar control, USB charger, speedometer with 28 segment-oriented features, etc.
For power, the TVS Ronin uses an all-new 225.9cc air/oil-cooled engine. The motor delivers a claimed power of 20.2bhp (15.1kw) at 7,750rpm and a maximum torque of 19.93Nm at 3750rpm. While the base of the engine is the same as Apache RTR 200, it’s cubic capacity bigger.
In addition, its stroke length has been increased by 7.2mm that makes it a “perfect square engine”. It’s claimed to deliver excellent low and mid-range torque. The bike offers a top speed of 120kmph.
The Ronin sits on a new double cradle chassis, which is suspended by a gold-coloured USD fork and monoshock at the rear. it’s said to deliver planted and precise handling.
The new TVS bike has multi-spoke alloy wheels that are shod with dual-purpose tyres. For performing braking duties, the Ronin has front and rear disc brakes. The bike also gets single and dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The ABS on the Ronin offers two modes – Urban and Rain.
