Triumph Scrambler 400 X Launched – Price, Features, Specs

Priced at Rs 2.63 lakh, the new Triumph Scrambler 400 X is available for bookings online or at authorized dealership.

After introducing the Speed 400, Bajaj-Triumph JV has launched the new Scrambler 400 X in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Triumph Scrambler 400 X is around Rs 30,000 expensive than the Speed 400 roadster. The later has received an overwhelming response from buyers as it recorded 15000 bookings in less than 12 days.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X Specs

The Triumph Scrambler 400 X is based on the same hybrid platform that underpins the Speed 400. It is powered by the same liquid-copoled, 398cc, single-cylinder engine that powers the roadster sibling. This engine is capable of producing 40bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and is benefitted with a slip and assist clutch.

The Scrambler 400 X has taller suspension units compared to the Speed 400. The motorcycle gets a 43mm big-piston front fork with 150mm travel and a monoshock unit with the same travel. On the other hand, the Speed 400 has 140mm front and 130mm rear travel.

While the Scrambler features a 320mm front disc, the Speed has 300mm front disc unit. The Scrambler 400 has a kerb weight of 179kg and has a ground clearance of 195mm. Due to longer suspension travel, the Scrambler has a seat height of 835mm. The Speed 400 has a more accessible seat height of 790mm.

The motorcycle’s foot pegs come with removable rubber inserts. The bike gets a sump guard and headlight grille as standard. The Scrambler 400 X rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with 100-80 and 140-80 section tyres respectively. The motorcycle gets dual-channel ABS that can be turned off.

In terms of features, the Scrambler has ride-by-wire throttle, traction control and dual-channel ABS, a semi-digital instrument console, a USB-C charging socket, an all-LED lighting system, and a steering look and an anti-theft immobiliser as standard. It is available in 3 colours – Matte Khaki Green, Phantom Black and Arnival Red.
