Triumph Motorcycles today introduced the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen limited edition in the Indian market. The model has been priced at Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 1,000 units of the Triumph Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition will be produced globally. The new limited edition pays tribute to the Triumph TR6 motorcycle, which was ridden by Steve McQueen in the ‘The Great Escape’ movie. Painted in Competition Green colour scheme, the new limited edition features a dedicated McQueen tank graphics with hand-painted gold lining and stainless steel tank strap, a brown seat cover, retro Triumph monikers, a brushed aluminium Monza cap and Triumph MyConnectivity feature.
Powering the Triumph Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition is a 1200cc, liquid-cooled, 8-valve, SOHC, 270° crank angle parallel twin parallel-twin engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 89bhp at 7,250rpm and 110Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE. The limited edition has 6-speed gearbox and wet, multi-plate assist clutch. It claimed to offer fuel efficiency of 4.6-litre per 100km and 105g/km Euro 5 CO2 emissions. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition sits on tubular steel with aluminum cradles and has 579mm long twin-sided aluminum swingarm. The bike rides on 36-spoke 90/90 R21 front and 32-spoke 150/70 R17 -inch rear tubeless tyres.
For performing suspension duties, the bike has Showa 47mm fully adjustable USD forks and Ohlins piggy-back RSUs with twin springs rear unit. Its braking system includes twin 320mm disc front and single 255mm disc rear Brembo brakes along with the switchable optimized cornering ABS (anti-lock braking system).
The Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen limited edition measures 905mm in width (with handlebars) and 1250mm in height without mirror. It has a wheelbase of 1570mm and a seat height of 870mm. The limited edition has a fuel tank capacity of 16-litres and carries a dry weight of 207kgs.
