Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid Waiting Period is Around 2 Years!

Toyota Innova Hycross is the top-selling strong hybrid car in the country. The three-row MPV has been in demand since its launch in December 2022. Within few months of its arrival, the model registered its highest monthly sales of 5,700 units in March 2023, and outnumbered cars like Mahindra XUV700, Tata Harrier and Safari and MG Hector.

Bookings for the Innova Hycross are keep pouring in, and as a result it commands a high waiting period. The MPV’s strong hybrid variants are reported to have a waiting period of up to 100 weeks (around 1 year 9 months), while its petrol version is observing a waiting period of 30 weeks.

The MPV model lineup is currently available in G, GX, VX, ZX and ZXX (O) trims, priced from Rs 18.55 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform, the MPV comes with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle and 2.0L petrol engines. The strong hybrid setup, with an e-Drive transmission, delivers a maximum power of 184bhp. The gasoline motor, on the other hand, is good for 172bhp and 205Nm. It can be had with a CVT automatic gearbox. Both powertrains are available with the front-wheel drive (FWD) system.

Maruti Suzuki will soon introduce the re-badged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. If reports are to be believed, the Japanese automaker will supply 9,000 – 10,000 units of the Innova Hycross to the Indo-Japanese manufacturer. Toyota’s Bidadi facility will serve as production hub for the new Maruti Invicto premium MPV. The carmaker will make a few changes to its design, especially at the front end.

Most of its features, components and powertrains will be similar to the Innova Hycross. The Invicto will come in two seating layouts – 7-seats and 8-seats -featuring two captain’s chairs with ottoman function for the second row and bench seats for the second and third rows respectively. The MPV will have Toyota’s ADAS tech along with features such as 6 airbags, traction control, electronic stability program, ventilated front seats, dual zone climate control, ambient lighting, memory function for the driver’s seat, etc.
