Toyota Kirloskar Motor will soon introduce the updated version of the Innova Crysta MPV in the country. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, the model is likely to hit roads sometime next year (i.e. 2023). The Japanese automaker might expand the 2023 Toyota Innova Crysta model lineup with the new CNG variant. According to fresh media report, the company might offer the MPV with the 2.7L, 4-cylinder petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The Toyota Innova Crysta CNG will target the fleet market along with the private buyers. Read – Toyota Innova Hycross Booking Amount, Launch Details
Recently, Toyota removed the previous-generation Innova Crysta from its official website. The carmaker will re-introduce the MPV with minor updates and a diesel engine. It will use the 2.4L diesel motor with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The oil burner returns a claimed power of 148bhp and 360Nm of torque.
The Japanese automaker aims to produce around 2,000 – 2,5000 units of the 2023 Toyota Innova Crysta per month from February onwards. The updated Innova Crysta will be sold alongside the Toyota Innova Hycross that’s due for January 2023. However, the carmaker will offer the MPV in lower grades (G, G+ and GX) only. The VX and ZX trims will be discontinued.
Interestingly, Toyota is planning to roll out electric iteration of its top-selling Innova MPV. Recently, the Toyota Innova Electric MPV was caught testing without any camouflage in Indonesia. Based on the previous generation Innova Crysta, the model features blacked-out grille and bumper at the front end. The blue treatment around the headlamp assembly, the signature logo and alloy wheels highlight its electric nature. Just so you know, the Toyota Innova EV concept first broke cover at the Indonesia International Motor Show in March 2022.
More details of the 2023 Toyota Innova Crysta (diesel/CNG) will be revealed in near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
