Toyota Corolla Cross SUV New Rendering Shows Possible Design

It is no secret that Toyota is working on several new SUVs for the International markets. After introducing the Yaris Cross, Toyota is ready to unveil the Corolla Cross mid-sized SUV. The SUV has been spotted testing multiple times in Thailand. The Asian debut of the mid-sized SUV is likely in the next 2 months.

A closer image of the Toyota Corolla Cross has already been leaked on the Internet, which shows the rear profile. The spy image reveals that the SUV’s rear profile could look like the RAV4. In fact, the front also shares similarity with other Toyota with its own identity. The SUV has more imposing front face and tapered headlights. Based on the spy images, digital artist Jonathan Machado has released a couple of renderings of the Toyota Corolla Cross. The rear design is heavily inspired from the RAV4, while the front design is a mix of Toyota Raize and the European Yaris Cross.

To be positioned below the RAV4, the upcoming Toyota Corolla Cross will be based on the modular TNGA platform. The SUV will also be launched in the Brazilian market in 2021. The Corolla Cross will directly rival the Jeep Compass. The SUV also shares the mechanics with the Corolla sedan, which includes a 177bhp, 2.0L flex engine with 10-speed CVT, and a 122bhp, 1.8L flex hybrid paired to the conventional CVT gearbox.

The Toyota Corolla Cross will have a wheelbase of 2,700mm, while the length and height stands at 4,460mm and 1,615mm respectively. The SUV will be equipped with features like 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Automatic AC, LED headlamps with projector, blind spot sensor, powered tailgate, adaptive cruise control, 360 degree camera, etc. The SUV will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels; however, the top-spec model will have 18-inch wheels.
