Tork Kratos & Kratos R Electric Bikes Launched; 120kms Real Range

There is a significant rise in electric vehicle segment, as several new start-ups have entered in the segment. The new automakers are entering the segment with a wide range of new electric two-wheelers and cars in the market. Bharat Forge, a Pune-based auto forged components manufacturer is the latest to join the EV segment.

The homegrown automaker has entered the electric two- and three-wheeler segment with Tork Motors, which is a Pune-based electric two-wheeler startup. Bharat Forge has 49 percent shares in Tork Motors, and Kalyani Group had also invested Rs 4 crore in the company in FY2021. The company has claimed to achieve subsidy requirements of the FAME II for the new motorcycles.

Tork Kratos Electric Motorcycle Details

The company has launched the new Tork Kratos and the Kratos R electric motorcycle range in the country. Tork Motors is also planning to partner up with the 3-wheeler makers for the supply for electric powertrains. It is basically the completely re-designed T6X electric concept, which was showcased about 5 years ago.

Tork Kratos Price

The Tork Kratos electric is fitted with a 4 kWh battery pack that is claimed to deliver a maximum power of 7.5 kW and a peak torque of 28Nm. It is claimed to achieve 0-40kmph acceleration in just 4 seconds. Available in a single white colour option, the new Kratos comes with a certified range of 180kms. The real world range of this motorcycle stands at 120kms. The Tork Kratos is available at a price of Rs 1.08 lakh – ex-showroom, Pune – including Government & state subisidies.

Tork Kratos Specs

The Kratos R motorcycle is priced at Rs 1.23 lakh, ex-showroom Pune. The actual cost of this motorcycle without the subsidy is Rs 2.08 lakh. This high-spec model is offered in 4 colours – White, black, Red & Blue. The Tork Kratos R is fitted with a 4kWh battery, but it offers more power of 9kW and a higher torque of 38Nm. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 3.5 seconds.

The higher-spec Tork Kratos R also supports a fast charging option. The battery is claimed to achieve 0-80% charge in just 1 hour. The company is also installing a fast charging network across India. Tork has announced that the buyers will have free access of these charging network for first 2 years. The Kratos R comes with internet connected features via the Tork application. It will offer features like crash alert, geo-fencing, find my vehicle, track mode, track analytics and others.

The Tork Motorcycles will be offered in a phased manners. The new bikes are offered in 6 cities – Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Delhi. In Phase 2, the bikes will be available across 100 cities. Interested buyers can book the new motorcycles online for Rs 999.
