Automakers have released their sales numbers for the month of February 2024. We also have model-wise sales numbers for the brands, and Maruti WagonR retained the top-position in the list of top-selling cars last month. In this article, we talk about the top 5 selling SUVs in the month of February 2024.
SUVs are hot favourites and Tata Motors’s two entry-level SUVs – Punch and Nexon have been among the top-selling SUVs in the past 1 year. This time around, the Tata Nexon slips to 5th position in the list of top selling SUVs. However, the Tata Punch has become the best-selling SUV in the month of February. 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions are grabbed by Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Creta and Mahindra Scorpio/N, respectively. Interestingly, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx crossover climbs to 6th position with 14,168 units sold last month.

Tata Motors sold 18,438 units of the Punch micro SUV in February 2024 as against 11,169 units in the same month last year, registering an impressive 65.08% year-on-year sales growth. Introduction of the Punch EV is one of the big reasons behind significant increase in sales of Punch nameplate in India.
The Maruti Brezza is at second position with 15,765 units sold last month as against 15,787 units in February 2023, reporting a marginal decline of just 0.14 per cent. The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid tech. Both manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options are on offer.
The Hyundai Creta is at 3rd position with 15,276 units sold in February 2024, registering a massive YoY sales growth of 46.59 per cent. It sold 10,421 units in February 2023. The Scorpio nameplate is at 4th position with 15,051 units sold last month, reporting a massive YoY sales growth of 116.56 per cent. In the same month last year, Mahindra sold only 6,950 units of the Scorpio.
Despite a rise of 3.46% YoY sales, the Tata Nexon slips to 5th position in the list of top 5 selling SUVs in February 2024. The company sold 14,395 units of the Nexon ICE and EV last month as against 13,914 units in February 2023.
