1. Maruti Brezza – 15,445 Units
Maruti Suzuki has sold 15,445 units of the new Brezza compact SUV in September 2022 as against 1,874 units in the same month last year. The new model has recorded over 1 lakh bookings since its launch in July 2022. It is offered with a single 1.5L K15C NA petrol engine with 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
2. Tata Nexon – 14,518
The Tata Nexon has been one of the best-selling SUVs in the country. In the past 6 months, Tata is selling an average of 14,000 to 15,000 Nexons per month. The company sold 14,518 Nexon SUVs in September 2022 as against 9,211 units in the same month last year. It is currently available in petrol, diesel and electric versions. In fact, the Nexon EV is the best-selling electric vehicle on sale in the country.
3. Hyundai Creta – 12,866
Launched in 2020, the Creta SUV has been the best-selling SUVs in its category. The company has sold 12,866 units in September 2022 as against 8,193 units in the same month last year. It is offered with 3 engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel and a 140bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol.
4. Tata Punch – 12,251
Tata Motors entry-level Punch SUV has been constantly reporting over 10,000 sales per month since its launch in late 2022. The company has sold 12,251 units in September 2022, making it the 8th best selling model in the country. In fact, the Punch has managed to beat the Maruti Swift and the Hyundai Venue in terms of sales in September 2022. It is offered with a 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options.
5. Hyundai Venue – 11,033
Hyundai has sold 11,033 Venue SUVs in September 2022 as against 7,924 units in the same month last year, reporting a year-on-year sales growth of 39.2 per cent. The new Venue has also received a sportier version, called the Venue N Line. The SUV is offered with a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
