Tata Motors has launched the new Tiago EV as the brand’s & India’s most affordable electric vehicle. This entry-level electric vehicle is available in the price bracket of Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It is positioned below the Tata Tigor and will target the first time car buyers in the country.
The new Tata Tiago EV is offered in 5 exterior colour options – Tropical Mist, Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Pristine White and Midnight Plum. Official bookings for the new Tiago EV will commence from October 10, 202, while deliveries will begin in January 2023.
The new Tata entry-level EV is offered with two lithium-ion battery packs – 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The entry-level model is claimed to deliver 250km range, while the latter offers 315km of range on a single charge. It comes with Ziptron high-voltage powertrain that includes a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. The electric motor produces 61bhp and 110Nm with smaller battery and 74bhp and 114Nm with bigger battery pack. With bigger battery, the Tata Tiago EV accelerates to 60kmph from zero in just 5.7 seconds.
It also comes with 4 charging options – a regular 15A home charger, 3.3kW AC charger, 7.2kW AC home charger and DC Fast Charger. The battery can be fully charged in 3 hours 36 minutes using 7.2kW AC Charger. With DC Fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 57 minutes.

The new Tiago EV is offered in 4 trim levels – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech LUX- and in total of 7 variants. The entry-level variant is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh, while the top-spec model costs Rs 11.79 lakh.
