Tata Punch SUV Rear Profile Revealed Ahead Of Launch

Tata Motors is all set to launch the much-awaited Punch sub-4 meter SUV in the country. To be positioned below the Nexon compact SUV, the new Tata Punch will rival the likes of the Maruti Ignis, Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite. It’s estimated to be priced in the range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.

It is basically the production version of the HBX concept, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company has released multiple teaser videos of the small crossover. A latest teaser reveals the rear profile of the Tata Punch, which appears largely identical to the concept.

The tailgate has strong crease and body line that flows over the taillamp and the Tata logo positioned on the tailgate. It gets wrap-around LED tail-lamps with Y-shaped insert, and the shape of the tail-light is also identical to the concept. It gets blacked-out pillars, and the rear door handle is integrated into the wide blacked-out C-pillar. The teaser reveals dual-tone paint scheme, as it is wrapped in light blue colour with contrasting white roof.

The roof-rails are finished in black, while the plastic cladding is offered all-around the body. The brake light is mounted on the roof-integrated spoiler. It gets massive rear lower bumper, which has similarities with the concept. However, it misses out on silver-finished faux skid plates. The lower bumper has all-black treatment with split faux skid plate and blacked-out plastic cladding. The small SUV rides on machined-cut alloy wheels.

Tata Punch Micro SUV

The teasers confirm that the styling of the Punch SUV remains true to its concept. The front design is heavily inspired by the Tata Harrier, featuring signature Tata grille, split headlamps with LED DRLs on top and main headlamp placed lower on the bumper. It gets chrome underlining for the upper front grille and DRLs,  while the lower grille has inverted tri-arrow design on the mesh. The SUV has big bumper that has wider air intakes and round-shaped fog lamps.

It is likely to share the interior layout with the concept. It will get a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a multi-functional steering wheel, fabric seats, Harman audio system, semi-digital instrument console, ambient lighting, ABS with EBD, cornering stability, parking sensors, etc. The Tata Punch is likely to come in two engine options – a a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.2L turbocharged petrol. Transmission choices are likely to include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. The micro SUV could also receive drive modes.
