The Tata Punch EV, the latest electric offering from the Indian automaker, has made its official debut through released images. Nationwide bookings have commenced, and the pricing is expected to be disclosed in late January 2024. Tata has confirmed that the electric micro SUV will be available in five trims: Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+.
Multiple Colour Options
The entry-level Smart and Smart+ variants are offered in a single Pristine White color. Dual-tone paint schemes, including Daytona Grey with Black roof, Pristine White with black roof, Seaweed with black roof, and Fearless Red with black roof, are available with Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+ trims. The Empowered Oxide with black roof shade is exclusively offered with the top-end Empowered and Empowered+ trims.
Claimed Range, Specs
The Tata Punch EV features two powertrain options: Standard (standard across all variants) and Long-Range (reserved for the top three trims). The former, equipped with a 26kWh battery, claims a maximum power of 75PS with 170Nm, while the latter, equipped with a 30kWh battery pack, offers 129PS with 215Nm. The ARAI-claimed range of the Standard and Long-Range versions stands at 315km and 325km, respectively.
What’s On the Feature Front?
The Tata Punch EV marks the debut of the brand’s new pure electric Acti.EV platform, which will also underpin Tata’s future electric cars. In terms of features, the electric micro SUV offers a range of amenities, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a rotary gear selector with an integrated display, a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, ventilated front seats, a blind view monitor, automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, sunroof, Harman sound system, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, and more.
On the safety front, the Tata Punch EV is equipped with 6 airbags, cruise control, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and a 360-degree camera with parking sensors.
