The much-anticipated Tata Punch EV is set to make its official debut today, January 17, 2024, accompanied by the eagerly awaited price announcement. Anticipated deliveries are set to commence in the subsequent weeks, with bookings for this electric micro SUV already in progress at a nominal initial sum of Rs 21,000. Ahead of its imminent market presence, comprehensive details have emerged, encompassing variant distinctions, battery pack specifications, and an array of features.
The Punch EV model range encompasses four distinct trims: Smart, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+. Offering versatility, the SUV is available with two battery packs: Standard Range and Long Range. Leaked information reveals that the Standard Range iteration incorporates a 25kWh battery pack, delivering 82PS of power and 114Nm of torque, with an impressive range of approximately 315km. Meanwhile, the Long Range variant boasts a 35kWh battery, promising a robust 122PS and 190Nm, coupled with an extended range of 400km.
In terms of trim-specific features, the entry-level Smart variant exclusively offers the smaller battery pack and includes LED headlamps, multi-mode regen with paddleshifters, electronic stability program, and a comprehensive safety suite featuring six airbags. Commencing from the Adventure trim, buyers can access a 7-inch infotainment system from Harman, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, electronic parking brake with autohold, a jewelled gear control knob, cruise control, front fog lamps with a cornering function, and an optional sunroof.
Advancing to the Empowered trim brings a 7-inch digital driver display, a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system, an air purifier with AQI display, SOS function, auto-folding ORVMs, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and dual-tone exterior color options. The top-end Empowered+ trim elevates the experience with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, leatherette seats, a blind spot monitor, and the exclusive Arcade.ev app suite.
Diversity extends to the color palette, with the Smart variant available in a Pristine White shade. The Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+ trims offer dual-tone paint schemes, namely Seaweed with a black roof, Daytona Grey with a black roof, Pristine White with a black roof, and Fearless Red with a black roof. The Empowered Oxide with a black roof shade is reserved exclusively for the Empowered and Empowered+ trims.
As for the pricing, the Tata Punch EV is estimated to commence at Rs 10 lakh for the entry-level Smart variant, reaching up to Rs 13 lakh for the top-tier trim.
